Society and its diversity
Society in the middle colonies was full of diversity and different cultures. You could find German, Dutch, Scots-Irish, Scandinavian, English, and enslaved Africans. The middle colonies were also known for their religious freedom this was for many two main reasons, proprietors of the colonies such as William Penn believed that people of different religions should live together. The other reason is many just wanted people to buy land and didn't care what religion someone was or wasn't. As mentioned in the geography section due to very Fertile land a great majority of the people were farmers, men, woman, and children working on the fields. But major cities such as Philadelphia and New York did get more diverse groups of people and businesses.
